The incredible life of sex symbol and Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, who turns 50 today

SHE stopped the world in its tracks when she ran along a beach in a striking red swimsuit – and 50 years on is still as iconic as ever.

The legendary Pamela Anderson is celebrating her 50th birthday on Saturday July 1, and has come a long way from her Playboy roots.

In the early stages of her career, the buxom blonde was known for her partying and daring fashion style.

She was made Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine in February 1990 and went onto star in films such as Raw Justice, Barb Wire and Blonde and Blonder.

Anderson made her name during her stint as the star of California beachside drama Baywatch in the 1990s but has kept busy since hanging up her famous red swimsuit.

She launched The Pamela Anderson Foundation at the start of 2014 to help environmental causes and to protect vulnerable people and animals.

She has also campaigned to raise awareness for organisations such as PETA and Mercy For Animals, and joined initiatives to protect the Arctic and to combat deforestation.

She has since debuted a more toned-down look, appearing unrecognisable at a gala in Paris in January, when she debuted a fresh-faced look.

The blonde Baywatch star has been married to three men, Tommy Lee, Kid Rock and Rick Solomon.

And she has two sons, Brandon Thomas Lee, 20 and Dylan Jagger Lee,19, both with ex-husband Tommy Lee.
