It's set to open on August 29 this year, and judging by the artist impression, it's a far cry from the garish carpet and drab decor that we've come to know and love.

The new Ramsgate branch features a high ceiling adorned with quirky hanging lights and a green, white and deep red theme, with accents of dark wood, reports .

There's also a grand staircase which takes punters up to a (carpeted) mezzanine balcony, providing a great view of the huge, wood-panelled bar that runs along the wall on the lower level.

It also maintains some of the iconic pavilion's original features, including the classic circular windows designed for the building by architect Stanley Davenport Adshead ahead of its completion in 1903.

Pub managers Chris Whitbourn and Charlotte Mason told how they are looking forward to opening the new-look boozer.

Chris said: "The pub will be one of the largest, if not the largest in the UK, with a customer area of almost 11,000 square foot, plus a ground floor and first floor terrace."

Formerly a casino, the stunning pavilion has stood derelict since 2008 and was in poor condition as a result of neglect and serious damage caused by a fire in 2011.

In 2013 it was listed on the Victorian Societies' Building at Risk Register.
