This is why you’re more likely to have sex this month… even if you’re single

IT'S good news for anyone trying to get some action, because June is apparently the month single people are most likely to have sex.

The news comes courtesy of online dating company OKCupid, which looked at data from its 18million users.

It found that in April, May and June there is an increase in the amount of people looking for one night stands.

That peaks in June, when 33 per cent more people hoping to see some action compared to the other months in the year.

So what's the reason for the increase? It's probably not too hard to work out - June is when people start to get those summer feelings, they go out more and want to socialise.

On top of that people go on holiday when it's warm, which is when they are likely to cast off inhibitions and won't be keen for serious commitment.

Susan Krauss Whitbourne is a professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and she's backed claims summer is the time people want some relaxed loving.

"I would say that the increase [of interest in one night stands] in the summer (assuming in Northern Hemisphere) reflects the warmer weather and perhaps less inhibition as one is wearing fewer clothes,” she explained.

“People are more willing and able to get out of the house when they’re not dealing with snow, rain, and freezing temperatures."
