Candid black and white photos show veteran Hollywood hunk Clint Eastwood relaxing at home before he found fame more than 60 years ago

The veteran actor and director posed for the pictures at his home in Hollywood in 1956 - aged just 26

HE IS the veteran Hollywood actor and director best-known for playing gun-toting cowboys and out of control cops.

And a series of candid black and white pictures have shown Clint Eastwood as a young baby-faced star relaxing in his Hollywood home before he found fame.

In the images, Clint, who turned 87 yesterday, can be seen baring his chest and lifting weights in his back garden, as well as chatting on the phone.

Other fascinating snaps show him athletically diving into a swimming pool and emerging, as well as relaxing on the boot of his open-top car.

While in one shot, he can be seen pointing a gun - a pose he has struck in many of his movies.

It would be two years after the pictures were taken that he would land the role of Rowdy Yates in the series Rawhide, which would catapult him to stardom.
