The cheap and cheerful retailer will release the purse friendly collection on June 12 – and the range includes everything from bouquets to invites all priced at £1.

The line has the bride-to-be covered in the run-up to the big day and for the honeymoon – with handy wedding planning journals and “Mr and Mrs” luggage tags also part of the collection.

Poundland has appointed its first ever wedding planner to tie in with the launch.

Sophie Bladen has landed the role, and she's provided a list of tips for savvy couples looking to save money.

Sophie’s top tips for a bargain wedding

1. Make sure you’ve got everything in check before the big day

There is no better way to organise yourself then writing down a to-do list. Use a wedding planner book with individual sections to keep things clear.

2. Seating plan sorted

The seating plan is a tough one, but once its sorted decorate plain place cards to fit in with your theme.
