The massive joint of beef, bigger than the average forearm, is now on sale at  £12.99 a kg at Aldi.

The same cut of rib-eye would set you back £26.99 a kg at Waitrose – more than double the cost.

It sells for £65.00 a kg at trendy London steak restaurant Hawksmoor, and that’s before adding the chips and veg.

The Tomahawk steak is a cut of rib-eye beef that includes the rib bone, which, when cooked, adds a variety of flavour and succulence to the meat.

It’s named after the tomahawk axe that it resembles and is sometimes branded the Cowboy steak.

We say “Yee Haw” to that.

Last year Aldi scored another beefy hit when it launched its Wagyu steak for fiver - despite the typical price being £90.
