Distraught woman asks for advice after her ‘younger, slimmer’ husband says he’s leaving her over EIGHT STONE weight gain
The wife admitted on Mumsnet that her husband said he wanted a divorce becuase she had failed to lose weight
A DISTRAUGHT wife says her "younger, slimmer" husband is leaving her after she put on eight stone since meeting him.
The anonymous woman turned to for advice after her husband delivered the bombshell that he wanted a divorce due to her weight gain.
She told the forum that she had never been a "slim girl" but since marrying 10 years ago, she had piled on even more weight.
The woman added that her estranged "good-looking" husband brought up the issue of her weight three years ago and paid for her to go to a personal trainer and weight-loss retreats.
But they didn't work as she turned to comfort eating and she claimed that he now wants to end the marriage.
She wrote: "He now says he cannot bear it any longer. He says that I've lost him now and have done for some time. He wants a divorce. No children.
"I can't help thinking he is right and I have really messed up and ruined my marriage."

And after asking fellow Mumsnet users for advice on what she should do, many slammed the husband for being so insensitive and said she would be well rid of him.
One poster said: "Focus on you now. Not him. Not your marriage. Let him go.
"Focus on what you want in life (it has to be more than him, he can't be your reason for living and happiness), whether it be to lose weight or maybe you want to just feel happy at current weight, take this time to relearn and love yourself."
Another wrote: "It sounds like this relationship wasn't great for you anyway if you were insecure with him. Maybe you'll be happier - and healthier - without him."
While one added: "CONGRATULATIONS OP! You have lost 13 odd stone of complete and utter c**kwomble."
But others weren't so supportive and said she needed to hear the truth and reality about her weight gain to get her life back.
One Mumsnet user wrote: "TBH if my husband put on 8 stone that would be a massive turn off too.
"I bet you will learn from this, you will now see the weight drop off, you will get your hair done, fit into clothes you have wanted to wear for ages and you will feel happier."
Another added: "I would struggle with my relationship with my husband if he gained 8 stone with no medical cause."
And one even said: "Don't sit around moping about your situation. Go grab at life again. As someone else said, go get your mojo back girl!!!"
But it is not the first time that women have turned to Mumsnet for relationship advice.
Earlier this month, a mum slammed her £55k-a-year husband for saying she should go back to work full-time after baby… but is she in the right?
While earlier this year, another Mumsnet user sparked a debate when she was given a wedding invite that said “adults only”.
