Wedding photographer spends SIX HOURS taking pictures of a couple getting engaged before realising he’s made a massive error

Jacob Peters was horrified when he realised what had happened, so took to Facebook to ask for help

WHEN a guy asked Jacob Peters to take pictures as he proposed to his girlfriend, the photographer planned every detail.

The man wanted the photos to be a surprise, so the whole thing had to be kept secret.

No problem for Jacob, who got up at 2.30am to travel to Whitaker's Point in Arkansas, America.

The proposal was happening at sunrise, with Jacob needing to drive to the beauty spot, hike to a secluded area and set up all his equipment in time to capture the special moment.

At first Jacob couldn't find where he was supposed to be, but with some help from a group of teenagers he was eventually good to go by 6am.

"Around 6:17am a young couple shows up. It's them. I'm sure of it," .

"A little late but still not too late.

"They go up onto hawksbill crag. Hang out for a few minutes and then it happens. He pulls out a ring, kneels down behind her.

"She turns around and starts crying and hugs him and it's obvious she said yes and all went well.

"I stick around for 10-15 minutes after, just taking photos."

So far so good... if it had actually been the right couple.

Unfortunately for Jacob, it wasn't until hours later that he realised he'd photographer the WRONG couple

Yes, poor Jacob spent all that time and preparation and then accidentally snapped the wrong proposal.

He discovered the mistake via a text from the guy who'd hired him.

Jacob had messaged him to say the photos looked great, then had a nap due to his early start.

When he woke, the man had replied querying whether Jacob had photographed the right people.

Well it couple have been worse - at least she said yes!

It read: "I'm confused, we never saw you and we got there a little late, are you sure it was us? I was in a blue plaid shirt…"

Rather than being annoyed, kind-hearted Jacob took to Facebook to share the story and try to track down the pair he DID snap.

He wanted to give them the pictures he'd taken... and astonishingly he did manage to track them down.

The pair are from Dallas and have the permanent reminder of their special moment.
