Gordon Ramsay roasts Youtube stars Dan and Phil’s meringues in a hilariously brutal tweet

The latest in a long line of wannabe cooks to feel the wrath of Chef Ramsay

IF YOU follow Gordon Ramsay on twitter, you'll know that he's suddenly come over a bit Simon Cowell.

Recently keen chefs have been sending Gordon pictures of culinary delights they have whipped up in the kitchen and in response he has been giving his professional critique.

Now if experience has taught us anything it's that Gordon doesn't pull any punches and it seems he's very much staying in character with this latest project.

he latest in a long line of home cooks to feel Gordon's heat are prolific vloggers Dan and Phil.

This Easter the pair of YouTube stars uploaded a cooking attempt where they created stunning pastel lemon meringues... or at least that was the aim.

Unfortunately the pair's fluffy Easter creations were a bit of a flop - with the egg whites not whipped enough and the sweet treats slightly overcooked.

The duo seemed more amused than disappointed and put the whole incident behind them, until last week, when one fan took a snap of the food and sent it on to Gordon for his comments.

Needless to say, Chef Ramsay's review was less than positive - with his analysis likening the homespun grub to something which is commonly flushed down the toilet.

He said: "They look like oven baked fake turds..... ones got diarrhea and now your covering them in chocolate? [sic]"

The incredulous fan responded jokingly: "did that really just happen [sic]"

The tweet got Youtuber Dan Howell's attention, and he tweeted the fan with the playful question: "What have you done?"

And the YouTube star then tweeted: "Gordon burned us harder than we burned the meringues."

Possibly not time to trade in vlogging for haute cuisine.
