Six people who subscribe to the Ipsy Glam Bag service in the US have reported this happening to one of the products they received in their April box, Luseta Beauty Volume Dry Shampoo.

No one was injured, but it’s enough to make you double check your toiletries.

When the news surfaced, Ipsy emailed its subscribers with the following message: “Like other aerosol products, this dry shampoo is flammable, so please exercise care: avoid fire, flame, or smoke during use, and protect from sunlight or heat.”

It also warned against placing the beauty box on the dashboard of a car where it could easily get too hot.

Reports from the US claim that six people have reported that their Luseta dry shampoo exploded after being left in the car

A spokesperson for Luseta Beauty explained to The Sun Online: “In the past couple weeks, we heard about 6 explosion incidents from Ipsy and consumers.

“Ipsy has sent out about 488,000 pcs of dry shampoos for its April Bag.

“The incidents all happened in the cars. It was obviously overheated and had been sitting in the car for a long time. We have already asked Ipsy to notify subscribers not to place any aerosol products in the car or in any hot places.
“Our product itself won’t explode under normal use and under the correct storage environment. Our products 100% meet the legal requirements and they are safe to use. “
The firm has also to show the importance of storing canisters in the right way.
So dry shampoo users must be careful where they store their products – never near radiators, in sunlight, in a gym bag you leave in the back of your car or anywhere it can get too hot.

The Sun Online has contacted Ipsy for further comment.
