A PLUCKY teenager who appeared on One Born Every Minute as her mum’s birth partner has been praised by viewers.
Jess, 16, said she couldn’t bear not to be with mum Elaine when she gave birth to her little brother and said: “I waited 10 years and nine months for this."
As an only child, she had always wanted a sibling but it was revealed that it had taken Elaine a decade to fall pregnant with new partner Jeff.
Jess revealed: “Since I was four years old I always wanted a brother or sister, someone to play with. I go on my phone all the time, but when I have a brother or sister I will play with them.”
She added: “I think Jeff will be in tears and my mum will be so happy that Jeff has a baby because it's like a miracle to them.”
The teenager was by Elaine’s side throughout the birth at Liverpool Women's Hospital.
But after watching the whole birth, Jess admitted: "Safe to say I've been scarred for life!"
She got to hold baby brother Robert soon after the birth and added: ““I will try and be a good big sister. I’ll try and push him in the right way and help him learn from my mistakes.”
Viewers loved Jess and her family.
One tweeted: "Haha bless her. So cute holding her little brother though.”
Another added: “Jess is going to be such a nice big sister! Loved watching that little family.”
A five-year-old who was born on the Channel 4 show was recently shown watching her own birth in a hilarious video.
And, on last week's show, a mum revealed the very comical name for her privates as she went through an agonising childbirth.
One Born Every Minute is on Channel 4 on Tuesday nights at 9pm.
