Luxury retailer Nordstrom are selling jeans caked in artificial MUD that’ll set you back £350
According to the designer, the crackled, caked-on muddy coating shows the wearer is 'not afraid to get down and dirty'
WHATEVER happened to a good old, classic pair of blue denim jeans?
Earlier this week we reported Topshop have released SEE-THROUGH "jeans" that aren't even made from denim.
These were hot on the heels of the high street store's bizarre “clear knee mum jeans” which feature two cut-out panels on the legs.
Now, luxury American fashion store Nordstrom have raised the bar - offering pairs of jeans caked in artificial MUD.
The by PRPS Denim are described as "heavily distressed medium-blue denim jeans in a comfortable straight-leg fit".
According to the designer, the trousers "embody rugged, Americana workwear that's seen some hard-working action".
On top of that, the crackled, caked-on muddy coating is apparently a sign that the wearer is "not afraid to get down and dirty".
The icing on the cake is that these 100 per cent cotton, dirty-looking kecks will set you back an eye-watering £350.
That's almost as ridiculous as paying £1,670 for a tote handbag that looks like an Ikea FRAKTA.
Several baffled fashion fans have taken to social media to question the odd trouser design.
One tweeted: "I so can't believe these damn 'mud' jeans are a thing" while another wrote: "The Nordstrom mud jeans look so nasty I actually gagged."
If you want to achieve the look without breaking the bank, we recommend you buy a pair of regular jeans for a fraction of the price and "get down and dirty" in the nearest muddy field.
Earlier this month we told how Fashion label Vetements created jeans with a zip to expose your bum cheeks… and they’ll set you back £1,490.
