THE house that Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe lived and died in is up for sale.
The starlet's stunning Los Angeles home is on the market and is expected to sell for a whopping £5,400,000 ($6,900,000) thanks to its famous former resident.
The blonde bombshell bought the four bedroom and three bathroom bungalow in the star-studded Helenas district of Los Angeles for just £60,000 in 1962.
But the sex symbol's residency was short-lived as she was tragically discovered dead in the property in August 1962, at age 36.
Marilyn was found by her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson who walked in on her laying naked and face down on her bed clutching a telephone handset, dead from an apparent overdose of sleeping pills.
At the time Marilyn shared the home with her long-time housekeeper and confidant Eunice Murray, following her divorce from Arthur Miller.
The Spanish-style property has since been renovated and updated over the years but still some of its original architectural details such as terracotta tile floors, Gothic arch doorways, and exposed wood ceilings.
It comes with a swimming pool, in which Monroe reportedly never actually swam, and a small guesthouse.
The villa is set in the Helenas, which is a series of 25 cul-de-sacs that boast an A-list clientele.
If you purchase this house you'll be rubbing shoulders with neighbours that currently include Ewan McGregor, and Naomi Watts.
It isn't the only famous home to hit the market in the past 12 months.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s £49million French estate and vineyard was reported ‘to go up for sale’ last October.
We also shared the multi-million pound homes of celebs including Tom Cruise and Calvin Klein that have been on the market for more than a year.
