People are mocking Balenciaga for their £1,595 vest that looks exactly like a LIFE JACKET
The bright orange inflatable garment has shocked twitter users
HIGH END label Balenciaga is the fashion house of choice for some of the world's biggest celebs.
But recently the brand has been the focus of some gentle jibes on the internet for their latest creation.
The sleeveless brightly coloured vest has come under fire as it bears a remarkable resemblance to a life jacket.
The fashion label has been accused of "taking the p***" with this latest style statement.
On the website the description reads: "For Spring '17, Balenciaga Creative Director Demna Gvasalia reworked the label's cult puffer jacket into a sleeveless vest.
"This bold marigold piece is made from quilted waterproof shell that can be inflated for dramatic volume.
"Mimic the runway and wear yours over a dress."
Twitter users were less than impressed with the garment.
One said: "Balenciaga really taking the p*** with that £1600 life jacket."
And one American tweeter added: "Really @Balenciaga? A $2,300 life jacket?!"
Another joked: "Do not inflate your life jacket inside the aircraft."
It's not the first time Balenciaga's bags have been in the firing line after a recent ‘must-have’ £1k Balenciaga bag resembled £1 laundry holdall.
They were also mocked for their £2,325 tote that looks exactly like a BLANKET bag.
