The ONS has calculated the average wage for over 100 common professions... and revealed the UK average salary
THE average earnings of Brits working in over one hundred common jobs has been revealed, with employees in some professions earning far more than you may think.
Researchers at the Office for National Statistics have calculated the average wage for 145 professions, and also shed some light on the national average earnings.
After assessing the earnings of 21,563,000 people, the ONS revealed that the average UK salary is £27,271, although most people will have to wait until their 30s before they're earning that much.
According to separate research by , those in their 20s will typically be taking home £1,829 to £1,924 per month.
By the time you reach your 30s, you can expect to be earning between £2,331 and £2,535 per month, whilst most people in their 40s will be hitting up to £2,830 monthly earnings.

Business chiefs and pilots came in second and third place, whilst doctors were found to be working in the 8th most lucrative job in the country.
At the other end of the scale, bar staff, waiters and cleaners were listed among the UK's lowest-paid jobs.
