Voice behind Bart Simpson dumbfounds cookie selling teen after she responds as the cartoon character
James, 13, unsuspectingly approaches Nancy Cartwright, 59, the voice artist behind Bart and tries to sell her cookies
A TEENAGE cookie-seller was left starstruck after he realised the kindly lady he was selling to was actually the voice behind Bart Simpson.
In the heartwarming clip, the teen referred to only as James is seen trying to sell boxes of cookies for a school fundraiser.
The boy, 13, unsuspectingly approaches Nancy Cartwright, 59, the voice artist behind Bart, and tells her that he is aiming to sell seven boxes.
Nancy, who has been the voice of the popular The Simpsons character since 1989, asks: “Let me guess, you’re like, 14?” and James then replies that he is 13.
Suddenly, Nancy switches on her famous television character voice and re-introduces herself.
She says in Bart’s voice: “I’m 10. I’m 10 and I go to Springfield Elementary”.
At this point, James isn’t quite sure what to make of the scenario and begins to nervously laugh.
Nancy continues: “I’m Bart Simpson, put her there, man” and tries to fist-bump the teen.
But, James’s still doesn’t seem to get what’s going on and he politely replies: “That’s a really good impression.”
Nancy begins to giggle and adds: “Is it pretty good? Do you know the guy that does it?
“Do you know who the voice is on that show?”
James replies: “No, not really”.
As Bart, Nancy then says: “Well shake my hand.”
As the student goes to shake her hand, he does a double-take before finally realising who she actually is.
As it dawns on him, he says: “Oh! Oh my god!”
Nancy laughs at the James’ adorable reaction and the two hug as James is left standing in disbelief at what just happened.
Nancy carries on as Bart: “What’s happening man, hi-five dude” and then buys ten boxes of cookies from the boy.
At the end of the clip, Nancy can be seen driving her car before stopping once more to give James her autograph as “proof” that she met the real Bart Simpson.
