THE Chase has found itself at the centre of another fix scandal after The Beast was given a question to answer about HIMSELF.

On Monday’s edition of the hit ITV gameshow The Chaser Mark Labbett went up against contestant Gillian.

In the cash builder round, the pair were asked: “Which of these shows was broadcast on UK TV first?”

The three options were Play Your Cards Right, The Price Is Right and The People’s Quiz.

The correct answer was Bruce Forsyth’s Play Your Cards Right.

Gillian guessed incorrectly with The Price Is Right but the controversy began when The Beast revealed his choice.

Explaining how he chose the correct answer, he said: “Play Your Cards Right was 1980, The Price Is Right was 1984 and The People’s Quiz was 2007 – and I know that because guess who was a runner-up on that show?”

Presenter Bradley Walsh asked: “Was it you?” to which The Beast replied: “Yes it was.”

The question meant Mark had an advantage as he was on The People’s Quiz and could easily narrow down the options to two possible answers.

The Sun Online has contacted ITV for comment.

Mark has previously vowed to hook himself up to a Jeremy Kyle-style lie detector to prove the show isn’t fixed.

Speaking to the Express, he said: “I have never thrown a question, let alone a show and would happily be strapped up to one of Jeremy Kyle’s lie detectors.

“Social media is great for people’s immediate gut reactions but not for a more considered opinion.

“My guess is that people get caught up in the excitement of the final chase and it boils over.”

Meanwhile, Chase contestant Matt was slammed by viewers after accepting a minus offer – when £49,000 was on the table.
