BEAUTY and brains is always a winning combination – but, according to TV viewers, it’s not something you usually find on BBC2’s University Challenge.
But, Oxford University student Emma Johnson, from North London, wowed viewers last night with her enticing blend of good looks and intellect - with many Twitter users going on to call her the “perfect woman”.
Although the mesmerising medical student failed to make the semi-final, she left those at home suitably impressed.
Viewers were quick to take to Twitter, with many declaring their undying love for Emma – especially after became clear her team was about to crash out of the competition to Balliol.
Many even suggested that cameraman (or woman) might also have enjoyed gazing upon clever Emma, with one viewer tweeting: “#UniversityChallenge seems to be having many specific shots on Corpus Christi's Emma Johnson. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY.”
Another user added that Emma was a “thing of beauty”.
But this isn't the first time that the academic show has featured gorgeous contestants - last season medical student Ed Bretherton, from Liverpool University, was also hailed as “evidence brains and beauty can combine” as well as a “babe” by other users.
