Jo Wood on forgiving her ex Ronnie Wood, being Fearne Cotton’s mother-in-law and new romance
She also discusses her love for Prince and how she got over her wild past
HAVE you always had green fingers, Jo?
I grew my first organic potatoes in Ireland in 1992.
I had a real sense of “I grew these!” and smuggled them to Paris where I was on tour with The Stones.
I cooked a bowl of them and put them backstage with a sign saying “Jo’s organic potatoes.”
They loved them!
You’ve referred to a Rolling Stones tour as “fuelled by coke and a virtual pharmacy of pills.” Do you regret your wild past?
In my 20s, I was drinking Jack Daniels, staying up late and smoking loads of cigarettes.

I remember one morning getting up and realising I hadn’t eaten for days.
I had yoghurt with honey and then didn’t eat for the next 24 hours.
I was around 6st.
Thank god I changed or I wouldn’t be here now.
My mum used to say she was waiting for the phone call where they told her I’d died.
Who was your fave celeb from your touring years?
I loved Prince.
We met lots of times and I was fascinated by him.
He supported The Stones years ago and was always very cool, talented and lovely.
Are you now friends with your ex-husband Ronnie Wood (who married 39-year-old Sally Humphreys in 2012 and became father to twins Gracie Jane and Alice Rose last May)?
Of course.
We’ve got children together.
I remember when I forgave him for everything [he left Jo in 2008 for Ekaterina Ivanova, 21].
In 2009 I was in Kenya with my son Tyrone, Jerry Hall, Lizzie and Jimmy Jagger, and I climbed a mountain.
I thought: “Ronnie, I forgive you. I’m going to be strong. This is my new life.”
I said it to the universe.
It was a big weight off my shoulders.
Do you ever miss having Ronnie as your husband?
I don’t miss him.
I don’t miss his madness, but I’ll always love him.
He’s been a big part of my life, although that seems like another lifetime now.
You’ve rekindled your relationship with another ex, builder Paul Scarborough, 53, after splitting in 2012. Could marriage be on the cards?
I saw a beautiful dress the other day with long sleeves that was tight on the body.
I thought: “If I got married again, I’d like to wear a dress like that.”
But do I really need to get married again?
You tell us! You’ve got nine grandchildren now – do you enjoy being a granny?
I love it!
When I was a young mum, I was just so busy living my own life that I would always be rushing around, staying up all night before waking up and dashing to take the children to school.
I was constantly in a hurry.
Now I’ve got all the time in the world to be a good grandmother.
Your stepson Jesse, 40, is married to Fearne Cotton. What’s it like having Fearne in the family?
She’s a lovely woman.
I can’t pick fault with her and they both love each other.
You can’t ask for anything more.
You look great by the way! Have you had any nips and tucks to stay so youthful?
Well, I’ve had maintenance!
I had a little fat injection here [points to the side of her eyes] not so long ago.
Plus, I’ve got good genes.
Tell us about the relaunched Jo Wood Organics range.
It used to be my hobby, but now it’s a business.
It’s all about organic produce that feels good on your skin.
You’ve appeared on Strictly and Celebrity MasterChef. Is the I’m A Celebrity! jungle beckoning?
I quite fancy camping in the jungle, but chomping on camel penis, that’s just horrible.

BTW
Jo was married to Ronnie Wood for 23 years before they split and eventually divorced in 2009.
At our photo shoot, Jo drank a double espresso with no sugar – she hasn’t touched the sweet stuff since 1992.
After our chat she gave us a lift to the tube in her Fiat 500 – what a star!
