Drug addiction, eating disorders and suicide attempts… Why celebrities asked for help on The Jeremy Kyle Show
MODEL Danielle Lloyd has said she wants to go on the Jeremy Kyle Show with her ex-husband Jamie O'Hara.
The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate wants her estranged ex to take one of the show's infamous lie detector tests to prove he was violent towards her - claims that Jamie vehemently denies.
The 33-year-old claims he “battered” her with a shoe and “strangled” her in front of their son Archie during their two-year marriage.
And she wouldn't be the first celebrity to appear on the controversial talkshow.
Here we take a look at other celebs who have appealed to Jezza, for reasons ranging from suicide attempts and failed marriages to battles with eating disorders.
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson
Last month we told how the late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, who died from a perforated ulcer and peritonitis aged 45, made an emotional appearance on the ITV chat show.
The star revealed how she almost died after taking a cocaine overdose, breaking down in tears as she recalled how she became a recluse after the terrifying near-death experience.
Blake Fielder-Civil
The ex-boyfriend of Amy Winehouse went on the show in 2013 and admitted to giving the late singer her first ever heroin fix.
He told the host: “I’ve admitted I was there when she had it first time. It was my doing. I don’t think she would have ever experienced it without me."
Blake added: "Of course I regret it. Not just because of the damage it’s caused Amy and the loss of life but the damage to her family but also to my family and also to me."
Michael Barrymore
The TV presenter appeared on the show in 2014 and spoke frankly about the time he attempted suicide.
Michael had taken an overdose and was rushed to hospital, explaining: "Pills - too many pills, just chuck a load in my mouth… I bought them from the chemist. I think that was a cry for help."
The star, who is currently seeking compensation after a “wrongful arrest” over the death of a man in his swimming pool 15 years ago, broke down while talking about the death of his ex-wife Cheryl in 2005.
Reports had claimed he was banned from attending her funeral.
Michael explained: "When I came back to live in England her sister Carol rang me up and said ‘I’d like to see you’, and she said, ‘You know all those things in the paper about Cheryl not wanting you to come to the funeral, it’s all nonsense she never said that’."
Kerry Katona
The Atomic Kitten singer's battle with drugs is well documented, and she went on Jeremy Kyle's Christmas Special in 2012 to talk about her personal demons.
She told how following the breakdown of her marriage to ex-Westlife singer Brian McFadden, she sought solace in drugs and self-harm.
Kerry explained: "I had no family round me, I was on my own and I tried to cut myself.
"I didn't do my wrists, because I'd put (tattoos of) Molly and Lilly on my wrists, so I cut my foot instead."
Pete Bennett
Big Brother star Pete went on the show in 2015 declaring he'd become homeless as a result of his addiction to ketamine.
The star, who once made £25,000 from a single photoshoot, admitted he squandered all his money on the drug and was living out of a suitcase.
The 2006 BB winner, who suffers from Tourette's, insisted he was now clean, that his condition had calmed down and he was looking to become an actor.
Last year we reported how Pete had reinvented himself as a “celebrity cleaner”.
Jodie Marsh
Jodie went on the show with her dad in 2008 and told Jezza she'd got to a point where she wanted to take her own life.
She recalled: "I just thought, 'What's the point?' Every angle I turn, people are being horrible."
She added: "I have a gigantic pick-up truck, massive monster truck, and I was driving down the street and I thought, 'If I put my foot down, get it up to like 70/80, and go into that lamp post that I know is round that corner, it'll probably be over that quick'. I came that close."
Alex Reid
Alex Reid attempted to set the record straight about his toxic relationship with Chantelle Houghton in 2012 by sitting down for a chat with Jezza.
His ex-fiancée had accused him of having sex with men while they were together, and when the host asked him if he was bisexual he replied: "I don't smoke but I have tried a cigarette."
Alex added: 'That was a long long time ago when I was experimenting to find out what I was all about."
Danniella Westbrook
The ex-EastEnders actress went on the show in 2012 to discuss her problem with drug addiction.
She also opened up about her relationship with then-husband Kevin Jenkins and how she became hooked on cocaine which resulted in her losing part of her nose.
The 43-year-old now has extensive scarring under her left nostril, as well as several teeth held in place by screws following a botched implant.
Nikki Grahame
Having become famous for her shocking outbursts in the Big Brother Diary Room, viewers saw a softer side to Nikki when she went on Jeremy Kyle to discuss her battle with anorexia.
The star had been in and out of clinics and hospitals from the age of eight to 16 and almost died when she became dangerously thin aged 12.
Nikki, who weighed just 2st 2lbs at the age of nine, admitted she saw Big Brother as a way of reinventing herself.
Tina Malone
The Shameless star shocked viewers when she showed off her jaw-dropping weight loss.
Tina had lost 11 stone since being fitted with a gastric band and even squeezed both her and the host into one of her old frocks.
She also spoke openly about her problems with booze, being declared bankrupt and having IVF at 50.
