A FASCINATING photographic collection of Hollywood royalty has emerged after 50 years under the radar.

The incredible series shows candid shots of silver screen idols such as Paul Newman, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn and Dean Martin.

The rare collection was captured by amateur photographer Dwight 'Dodo' Romero between 1954 and 1967, who would wait near Hollywood parking lots and other hangouts to catch a glimpse of the stars.

The photos, which more recently belonged to a book dealership in York, have emerged for auction and are tipped to sell for £800.

They aren't the only rare images to be unearthed of famous stars.

Never-before-seen photos of Marilyn Monroe taken by a fan went up for auction last February.

Another historic treasure to be unveiled is a Grace Kelly-inspired gown worn by Princess Diana to 1987 Cannes Film Festival which will go on display in Kensington Palace.
