Shannon disappeared on her way home and was found 28 days later at the home of Michael Donovan.

Shannon's mum Karen was found to have faked the kidnapping alongside Michael, who was her partner Craig Meehan's uncle, so they could collect reward money by 'finding' the little girl.

The clip shows three friends playing the roles of Karen, Karen’s best friend Julie (played by Sheridan Smith on the show) and Karen's partner Craig.

The trio re-enact the moment Julie confronts a sobbing Karen asking if she knew where her daughter was being kept.

Clutching a teddy bear and fake-sobbing, the girl playing Karen admits she knew the location of Shannon.

The attention shifts to a baseball cap-wearing man playing the role of Shannon’s step-dad Craig.

'Julie' - clad in the red coat she wore on the series - yells, “For f***'s sake Craig, what have you taken?” in relation to his character’s attempted overdose in the show.

'Craig' replies saying it is Calpol and then starts talking about the laptop on his knee.

He replies: “It was all we had in ‘ouse.”

The viral video ends with 'Karen' and 'Craig' pleading to the camera for Shannon to come home.

Off-screen laughter can be heard as the girl portraying Karen raises the bear to the screen in mock sadness.
