This is the reason why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are never spotted holding hands in public
EVER wondered why royals Kate and Wills never pack on public displays of affection?
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are at many a fancy event together, but they are very rarely pictured hand in hand.
Unlike Prince Harry, who was spotted holding hands with his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle earlier this month, his brother opts to walk solo.
Etiquette experts believe that the Cambridges may refrain from looking loved-up as it could detract from their role as royals.
Myka Meier, the founder of Beaumont Etiquette, told : "There is no actual etiquette or royal protocol that says the couple must refrain from PDA.
"The likely reasoning is more that while travelling on a tour such as the India trip, technically the couple are working representatives of British Monarchy.
"The couple are likely to show very little PDA, if any, to remain professional during their designated roles abroad."
Despite the theory, the royal pair do occasionally share the love in public.
In 2012, they celebrated Team GB's Olympic cycling victory with a happy embrace.
