The Chase viewers slam team for ‘going low’ in a ploy to win… and are furious at The Beast’s lacklustre performance too
Only one contestant, Alex, made it into the final round and played for just £1,000
VIEWERS of The Chase can be a tough audience to please as they love to see contestants take a risk.
And after tonight's episode they were left seething once again and slammed the team for 'going low' and playing it too safe in a ploy to win.
But it wasn't just the contestants coming under fire, viewers were also furious at Chaser Mark Labbatt's lacklustre performance after he fluffed several questions.
Today's team had already got off to a rocky start after they lost their first player Chris, who they regarded as the person most likely to get them cash.
Next player Susan was offered a high bid of £36,000 but her teammate Angela talked her out of the gamble claiming it was too high.
That caused The Beast to snap: 'Can we run that by again? £36,000 is too high? What should I have put on there? £6,000.”
But despite Susan opting for £4,000 she too was caught.

With only two team members remaining, next up was Alex and he was pushed to take a low offer of £1,000 after his cash builder, which even confused host Bradley Walsh who shouted: "What's going on?!"
He got through but afterwards Angela was knocked out by the Beast.
And taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "This is the worst bunch I've ever seen on #thechase
While another said: "Team mates who tell you to take the lower offer are as bad as the person who takes lower offer."
Later in the final round, it was only Alex playing for the grand total of just £1,000 against the Chaser.
But the Beast came in for criticism for getting four questions in a row wrong, including giving the incorrect answer when asked what Georgie Porgie did to make the girls cry and not knowing what colour a kingfisher is.
After the early blip, he easily got the 12 questions right he needed to win.
But viewers were still unimpressed with his performance.
Gillian wrote on Twitter: 'What the? What has happened to The Beast?"
While George said: "I have never seen the Beast get so many questions wrong."
Yesterday, we reported how another Chase contestant was slammed for walking away with £12k after taking huge minus offer of £6,000.
Earlier this week we told how The Chase will now air on weekends too.
