A SCHOOLBOY who was diagnosed with cancer after doctors found a 15cm tumour on his kidney has had his wish to dance with Olly Murs granted.

Five-year-old Lucas Tatton became obsessed with the former X Factor star and wanted nothing but to boogie with the singer in person.

And last week, the little boy, who’s undergoing gruelling chemo treatment, had his dream come true - as the star taught him to wiggle his bum just like he does in his recent hit, Grow Up.

Lucas’ mum Katie, a retail worker from Leek, Staffs, said: “Lucas always copies Olly’s dance moves.

“‘Grow up’ is Lucas’ favourite song.

“Meeting Olly and singing and dancing was such a breath of fresh air for him. It was a chance for him to forget about his condition and be a normal little boy.”

Doctors thought Lucas’ cancer had gone after his right kidney was removed when he was three years old.

But tests showed it had come back in October.

He can now only eat through a feeding tube.

Charity Rays of Sunshine introduced the pair after learning of Lucas’ plight.

Katie said: “Lucas’ life revolves around chemo, having his line flushed, scans and appointments. His life is so medicalised.

“Meeting Olly and singing and dancing for the afternoon was such a breath of fresh air for him. It was a chance for him to forget about his condition and be a normal little boy.”

Olly, who is a brand ambassador for the Rays of Sunshine and is prepping for his tour of Britain next month, has met hundreds of children since he took up the role four years ago.

He said: “Lucas is going through a tough time at the moment but he had so much energy.

“It was great to see his little face smiling and it was fun to sing together and have a good time.”

Lucas was among a group of six seriously ill children to spend time with Olly as part of the charity’s Valentine’s campaign #KISSES4WISHES
