The Chase’s Mark Labbett blasts contestant for branding fellow Chaser Jenny Ryan ‘not as good’
Lucy was put firmly in her place as The Beast warned her he would 'whoop' her for that comment
THE Chase's Mark Labbett let rip on a contestant last night after she dissed fellow Chaser Jenny Ryan.
The Beast warned Lucy he was going to "destroy her" after she claimed The Vixen's knowledge wasn't "as good" as the other Chasers.
Lucy, who lives in Leeds but is from Northern Ireland originally, is a charity worker for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues from minority communities.
She told host Bradley Walsh she's a keen yoga enthusiast and that her thighs are "still a bit burny" from a workout several days ago.
And she burned through the cash builder round, notching up a prize fund of £4,000.
When it came to facing The Chaser, Bradley asked Lucy which quiz master she'd choose.
Lucy replied: "I'd love to take on The Vixen.
"She's not too much older than me, but she is older than me, but I think her knowledge isn't quite as good, so I reckon I could have a good chance of winning."
Sadly for her, The Vixen wasn't on duty as Mark Labbett arrived on stage - and he wasn't happy about her slating one of his fellow Chasers.
He told Lucy: "Do you want to know how good The Vixen is? She's way better than you and I'm gonna whoop you for that comment. I got a message from backstage. Destroy her! Written in red lipstick."
The Beast wasn't kidding, as he made short work of Lucy, catching her up while she was still two answers from home.
Looking pleased with himself, he told her: "On behalf of both Jenny and myself, ta-ra.
"You insult one of us, you insult us all."
Bradley added: "Don't mess with the Chasers!"
Viewers at home were also unimpressed by Lucy's comments.
One tweeted: "How dare you disrespect The Vixen, stunning and intelligent = perfect combo. Get her Beasty!#TheChase."
Another wrote: "This girl reckons Jenny 'The Vixen Ryan' isn't as good. Is she kidding? She's ace! #TheChase."
Even The Vixen herself got in on the action, tweeting: "That was a daft thing to say, Lucy...big trouble for you."
Fans of The Chase were also pleased to see The Beast had Jenny's back.
One viewer wrote: "Love how @MarkLabbett always sticks up for Jenny Ryan on #TheChase."
Another tweeted: "Good old @MarkLabbett sticking up for the lovely @jenlion."
Yesterday we told how a flirty Chase contestant asked Anne Hegerty for her phone number before saying she 'smells like a PIG'.
Earlier this week Bradley Walsh branded The Sinnerman ‘rude’ on The Chase for mocking a contestant’s party trick.
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
