A STUNNING Victorian Mansion has come up for sale in Greater Manchester.

The suburban seat is spread across a whopping 6,997sq ft and boasts an impressive ten bedrooms – looking closer to a home you might expect to find on a Royal estate rather than in Stockport.

Fern Cliff is one of the biggest houses in the area and has been a fixture in Heaton Moor since Victorian times.

Former residents include Lord Mayor of Manchester, Sir James Hoy, who lived in the house for over 20 years.

And due to its heritage and size, the property, which is on the market for £1,475,000, has always been the centre of attention for parties.

Julian Bethell, director at Julian Wadden Estate Agents, told the Manchester Evening News : “Over the years it has been the heart of the family for celebrations of all kinds.

“Family Christmases, New Year parties, cellar parties, father’s day barbecues in the beautiful garden as well as a Golden Wedding and a 90th birthday party.”

Fern Cliff was sold to its current occupants in 1948 - and they have lived there ever since.

Despite it being almost 150 years old, Fern Cliff is somewhat of a time warp - having managed to retain many of its original 1869 fittings, such as intricate stain-glassed windows and elaborate tiles.

Julian added: “It is a grand old lady of a house in need of some repair but offers a magnificent and utterly unique home in Heaton Moor.”

But the property's impressive features don’t end inside the mansion - the garden is also something to behold.

According to the advert, Fern Cliff is set back on a long, private drive and surrounded by rhododendrons and various mature trees.

There is even an idyllic, secret garden hidden at the back of the property - perfect for lazy lounging on long summer days.

And if that wasn't enough, there’s a separate 'coach house' boasting a further four rooms.

Anyone got a spare £1.5million we could borrow?
