EASTENDERS’ hardman Phil Mitchell and old flame Shirley Carter enjoy a night out together… Wait, what? No, that’s not them.
A couple’s selfie has gone viral after social media users decided they were deadringers for the Albert Square pair.
Blonde Sally Darley and bald-headed Craig Moylan from Southampton shared the snap on a night out in the city “drinking anything alcoholic”.
A friend, Michael Symonds, noticed the duo’s similarity to alcoholic mechanic Phil and Queen Vic barmaid Shirley, according to Deadline News.
The joker left a picture of the soap characters under the real couple’s snap and commented: “Phil and Shirley out on the lash!”
The comment went viral after screenshots of it were shared by the joker’s daughter, Twitter user Summa Symonds.
She posted a screenshot of the couple’s picture and another of her father’s comment with the caption: “As if my dad commented this on his mate’s photo.”
Since tweeting yesterday morning, her post has been retweeted 13,000 times and liked over 42,000 times.
