When is the Eurovision Song Contest 2017?
The grand final is due to take place this TONIGHT (May 13). The extravaganza kicks off in the UK at 8pm on BBC One.
After two rounds of semi-finals the 26 countries going through to the finals in Kiev were revealed on May 11.
As a major TV partner, the UK's Lucie Jones is guaranteed a place in the grand final tonight.
All the action will be broadcast live on the BBC with Graham Norton returning alongside new partner in crime Mel Giedroyc to host the spectacle.
Which country is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2017?
The Eurovision Song Contest is always hosted by the nation who won first place in the previous year.
Having stormed to victory in 2016’s competition, after singer Jamala performed her winning song 1944, Ukraine will be hosting the 2017 battle of vocals.
The event will be broadcast live from the International Exhibition Centre in Ukraine's capital Kiev.
The reigning champion Jamala will be in attendance on the night, to hand over the iconic glass microphone trophy to this year’s winner.
Who is performing for the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017?
All six of the contenders in the running this year were rejects from the X Factor, and the winner was decided by a public vote.
Hopefuls included Danyl Johnson and Lucie Jones, who both reached the X Factor live shows in 2009, and Nate Simpson and Olivia Garcia, who crashed out of last year’s series at the Judges’ Houses.
In the end, it was Lucie who triumphed in the public vote with her song Never Give Up, which was co-written by 2013’s winning Eurovision act Emmelie de Forest.
The UK has won at Eurovision five times, but hasn’t come first for 20 years – when Katrina and the Waves triumphed with Love, Shine a Light, back in 1997.
Last year, the UK's entry to the 2016 Eurovision song contest was musical duo Joe and Jake, who performed their debut single You're Not Alone at the final in Stockholm.
Their entry came 24th overall and got a total of 62 points. It was the UK's highest placing entry since Blue's attempts in 2011.
