A WOMAN who lost 10 stone in two years proudly shows off her excess skin like a trophy.
Weight loss queen Amanda Roberts, 23, recently shared a video of her one stone five pounds of stomach skin in a bid to empower women to accept their bodies.
Alongside the video she wrote: “My loose skin is not a deflated fat suit.
“It's not a fake stomach. Loose skin is a REAL thing that happens to a LOT of people after extreme weight loss.”
The Californian woman felt the need to address comments by critics who slammed her new body, accusing her of faking it.
Over 25,000 people have viewed the video so far, with 200 users praising her bravery.
The determined mother revealed that some days her loose skin is the favourite part of her body, while other times it is a challenge.
She defended her figure saying: “I don't care if you think I'm looking for attention, or if you think my stomach is the most disgusting thing you've seen.
“I remind myself that this is the only body I'll have, and it's so beyond important to let the POSITIVE days outweigh the negative.”
The mum-of-one explained the skin folds are not something she can just exercise, diet or magical cream away.
“If I 'lose another 100lbs' it will NOT make my loose skin disappear, I'd simply be an unhealthy 80lb person with even MORE loose skin," she said.
Previously, the woman said she felt like ‘a human puddle’ after being left with the sagging skin.
After reaching a peak weight of 23 stone, Amanda underwent a gastric bypass to help her get in shape.
She kick-started a new lifestyle filled with regular exercise and a diet of fresh foods rather than takeaways and sugary snacks, and ended up shrinking to half her body size.
The inspirational mum-of-one is remaining upbeat about her weight loss journey and isn’t deterred by the appearance of the loose skin.
Amanda, who has a daughter called Talia, started a to raise cash for an operation to have the excess skin removed, where she has raised around £1,196 ($1,442) of her £6,225 ($7,500) goal.
She wrote: “Anyone who doesn't LIKE my body (or for some reason thinks it's fake) please take a moment and hit the block button, because I will NEVER stop posting about it and helping empower other women to love their loose skin too.”
