YORKSHIRE has been revealed as the top county in the UK for dogging, with a higher number of frequented locations than any other.
The northern county has boasts some 271 spots where people are known to park up and romp in their motors while strangers watch, according to dogging website Swinging Heaven.
Locations include a water park in Wakefield, a swimming bath in Hull and a track next to the runway of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Users are encouraged to submit their favourite places so that others can comment on what they think of them.
One wrote about the water park: “Can't park on site but there are a lot of places to go around including the bird hides – have had many a fun night in there.”
And another warned about a different location: “Regularly frequent this spot with my wife...but police have been for the past three weekends.”
With almost as many hotspots as the whole of Wales combined, Yorkshire beat its old rival Lancashire – with 217 locations – into second place.
According to the site, more than 21,000 members in the red rose county meet up at a range of spots including the car park opposite Preston North End’s Deepdale stadium, Charnock Richard services on the M6 and Moor Park bowling green in Preston.
One user spoke very highly of a particular motorway service station, saying: “I ended up in a truck with a fit trucker who I met in the loo. Def one to visit again.”

But a police spokesman warned doggers could find themselves in trouble, even though the act itself wasn’t necessarily against the law.
The spokesman said: “Sex in public places is not necessarily illegal.
“However we will take action where anyone could be offended by another person’s conduct or actions.”
Kent came third in the dogging league table with 211 locations, while Essex boasted 181.
Swinging Heaven claims it has more than 1.8 million members across the UK and list 3,000 popular dogging locations.
