WHETHER you believe his theories or not, it could be argued prophet Nostradamus has been scarily accurate with some of his predictions for 2016.
According to conspiracy theorists, the 16th century French philosopher saw the election of Donald Trump coming - 16 years after the The Simpsons.
He is previously believed to have predicted both the rise of Napolean and Adolf Hitler, as well as the 9/11 terror attacks in New York.
It's also been claimed Nostradamus foresaw ISIS’s bid to control parts of Europe, in the hope they will spark WWIII.
And when it comes to 2017, several of Michel de Nostredame's prophecies are sounding scarily possible.

Russia and Ukraine to sign a peace deal
According to the prophet, the two warring nations will come to an agreement next year, though the terms of which are unclear.
Contrary to what's happened so far, he said the US will oppose the truce while Germany and other EU members will embrace it.
Italy to face financial hardship
According to Nostradamus, unemployment and loans will make Italy the “epicentre” of the European financial crisis, detracting attention from Greece and Spain.
Italian banks have 286billion euros worth of bad loans and if they start falling over, it's highly likely the Eurozone would be plunged into crisis.
Former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi recently resigned after suffering a crushing defeat over his plan to reform the constitution, leading to fears the nation may be the next to leave the EU.

Nostradamus claimed the nation will take drastic action to cure the ";economic imbalance" in the world.
According to blind prophet Baba Vanga, who correctly predicted Europe as we know it will “cease to exist” by the end of this year, China is set to become the new superpower of the world.
More commercial space travel
The prophet's predictions for 2017 saw the debut of commercial space travel.
While the costs are very likely to be too high for most people, numerous firms including Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic and Elon Musk’s SpaceX have already invested heavily in the development of commercial space flights.

According to him most computing will simply be assumed to be done 'in the cloud', negating the need for the reference.

According to Nostradamus, the current world superpower - America - will become increasingly resistant to change, ungovernable and incompetent to take care of the world.
One of his predictions reads: “The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws.”
Theorists reckon the “trumpet” is new President Elect Donald Trump and that the reference to Byzantium – an Ancient Greek colony – could be linked to the influx of refugees coming through Greece.
Trump’s strong anti-immigration stance has been at the centre of his campaign.
Nostradamus claimed ideological polarisation, political corruption, growing inequality, globalisation of corporate and financial elites and large-scale social system failures will contribute to the sclerosis.
Global warming a trigger for war
Nostradamus reckoned the possibilities of ‘Hot Wars’ could be escalated next year due to global warming and diminishing resources.
New US President Donald Trump recently claimed global warming is a "hoax" made up by the Chinese.
As far as the warfare itself goes, the biggest future threat will be from terrorists and bio-attacks.
While Nostradamus' prophecies must be taken with a pinch of salt, it will certainly be interesting to see how the coming year pans out.
