Mind-boggling mask optical illusion tricks you into thinking you’re always looking at the front as it rotates
Can you face up to this eerie illusion?
AT first glance this video seems pretty straight forward clip of a mask rotating around but there's something odd about this mind-boggling illusion.
The short clip has turned heads all over the internet as it confuses viewers.
A white mask appears to be rotating in mid-air but it plays tricks on the viewer as it always looks as though it is the front of the mask despite the fact it is constantly turning.
This clever optical illusion skews the viewer's perception as it causes the brain to only perceive it as a protruding face - regardless of the way it is facing.
Website who shared the video clip explained: "We know from experience that faces are convex so our brain processes the image in a way that makes sense to us and matches our expectations."
They continued: "This tendency is so strong that it is able to override the 3D depth information provided by our stereoscopic vision."
