FROM Britain voting to leave the European Union to the launch of the new £5 note, this has certainly been a memorable year.
Press Association have released a list of some of the most eye-catching, stunning and shocking pictures from 2016.
One of the snaps shows the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a seven-day royal tour in India, back in April.
Another is of former London Mayor Boris Johnson being mobbed by reporters outside his home in Islington, north London.
The photo was taken in February, after Boris revealed that he would be campaigning for Brexit.
While another pic captures the moment Theresa May walked into 10 Downing Street, shortly after becoming our new Prime Minister.
And young people were photographed laying wreaths during a service to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the battle of the Somme.
It took place at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Memorial in Thiepval, France, where 70,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers with no known grave are commemorated.
One memorable snap shows former UKIP leader Nigel Farage celebrating at a Leave EU party in London, after the vote's results came in.
Also included in the list is the UK's largest mechanical puppet ever built in Britain, Cornish Man Mining Engine, being unveiled in Tavistock to hundreds of people.
The epic 10 metre-high Cornish Man Mining Engine marked the 10th anniversary of the Cornwall and West Devon mining landscape being added to the Unesco list of World Heritage Sites.
In another photo, men jump to avoid a large puddle outside London's Victoria Station, as heavy rain on 20 June marked the beginning of the British summer.
One particularly touching snap is of the floral tributes left outside Batley Town Hall, in the constituency of Labour MP Jo Cox.
One royal snap shows Queen Elizabeth II peeking out of the window at Buckingham Palace, ahead of her 90th birthday celebrations in The Mall.
And another memorable shot was of the Northern Lights appearing in the sky over Bamburgh lighthouse - at stag Rock, in Northumberland.
