Paris Hilton and Lidl? Multimillionaire heiress flogging hair product collection at budget supermarket

Paris Hilton has launched a new collection of hair styling products with discount supermarket chain Lidl

MULTI-MILLIONAIRESS Paris Hilton is flogging her own hair styling products in budget supermarket Lidl just in time for Christmas.

Paris, who has an estimated net worth of £78 million, has enlisted Lidl to help sell her Paris Hilton hairbrushes for just £1.99 and hairdryers for £9.99.

The collection features pink hairdryers, straighteners, curlers and brushes.

The most expensive items in the US socialite’s collection are the ceramic Wave Curlers and Rotating Hot Air Stylers, both priced at £16.99.

Lidl shopper Susan Davies, 45, from Poole in Dorset, said: “I couldn’t quite believe it when I spotted Paris Hilton’s range in Lidl while picking up some stocking fillers for my kids.

“It is quite amusing to think someone of her wealth is selling her stuff in a cheap supermarket to make a few extra pennies this Christmas.”

Paris, 35, is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of Hilton Hotels.

Earlier this year, her net worth was said to have exceeded the $100 million mark (around £78 million).

Paris lives a palatial home worth an estimated £6 million in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The mansion featured in the 2013 film The Bling Ring.

The garden boasts a two-storey Italian-style villa for her pet dogs, with air conditioning and wrought iron railings on an upstairs balcony.

In 2004, Paris penned her own book, Confessions Of An Heiress. In the book, the wealthy star gave advice to aspiring heiresses.

She wrote: “Despite what you've read, being a famous heiress is not that easy.

“It is, of course, fun and exciting, and it comes in handy for air travel. But look around you, and in the gossip columns: Not every heiress is famous. Or fun.

“There are a lot of boring heiresses out there. What a waste, I say!”

Paris added: “These are people who are so afraid of what other people might think or write about them, they don't take advantage of all the possibilities that being an heiress hands you on a silver platter.”

Social media fans went wild when Paris Hilton made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday evening, with many thinking it was a joke.

One user wrote "OMG, I thought this was a joke? lol", while another commented "from highest earning reality star to Lidl - tragic."

German discount supermarket Lidl launched in the UK in 1994. There are now more than 600 stores across the country.

This year, it was crowned Best Supermarket at the Good Housekeeping Food Awards 2016, beating off competition from previous winner Waitrose.

Last month, Lidl became the first supermarket to pay staff the living wage.
