Teen Mom UK’s Megan Ferrari hopes having a second baby will make her relationship with Dylan ‘stronger’ – but he’s not so sure
The MTV star, 18, will give birth to a little girl in April
TEEN Mom UK star Megan Ferrari hopes having a second baby with her partner Dylan will make their relationship “stronger”.
The 18-year-old, who is already a proud mum to one-year-old son Mckenzie, is set to give birth to a baby girl in the spring.
Megan, one of five mothers in the MTV reality show, said: “It’s a dream come true to be having our second child at 18 and finally everything seems to be going my way.”
In the series finale, Megan and her young family are seen moving into their new home.
With help from her mum Sonia, she has now been able to buy a bigger caravan in a “posh” park.
Megan said: “It’s kitted out with all the luxuries we’d want and more. It’s got two bedrooms so Mackenzie has his own room.
“It has running water that never runs out. You put the hot tap on and it’s instantly hot. I think the best part about it is it’s got a flushing toilet.”
Megan thinks it’s the perfect place for them to live and add to their brood.
She added: “I’m really happy, there’s a lot more room for the dog and the baby because he likes crawling round the floor. It will just help him develop a lot more.
“It’s better for all of us as we progress and move forward.”
Megan reveals she hasn’t “been on the pill for four weeks” and would love to have another child, but Dylan isn’t so keen.
He said: “We’re a bit more prepared but it’s still not good timing.”
Megan has decided not to tell her mum that she’s trying for another baby because of “all the drama” over her having Mckenzie so young.
But Sonia has a surprise of her own when they meet up for a coffee and stepdad Mark turns up with a new car that is decorated in a red bow.
A teary Megan said: “I’m in shock they’ve bought me a car as a belated 18th and it just shows, even though they don’t always agree with how I live my life, they’ll still have my back.
A few weeks later Megan gets the news she’s been waiting for – she’s pregnant.
“Last month we started trying for another baby and I’ve just done another pregnancy test,” she tells the camera.
“I’m really, really happy and excited. Dylan was a bit like, ‘money, blah, blah, blah’.
“I don’t really want to tell anyone until I’m quite far along because I can’t be bothered with all the aggro. I just think it’s my life, let me get on with it.”
Megan and Dylan are filmed visiting the hospital for their first scan.
“I can’t wait to see the baby but we’re still in shock I got pregnant so quick,” she said.
Dylan is not so enthralled, adding: “It hasn’t really kicked in that you’re pregnant yet. I thought today would but it hasn’t. Mixed emotions. I don’t really feel anything about it yet.”
Despite Dylan’s money worries, Megan is convinced a new baby will bring them closer together.
“We’ve survived a tough few months and nearly split up but hopefully the new baby will make our relationship stronger,” she said.
“Life as a teen mom has been a rollercoaster and I can’t wait for the next chapter.”
Teen Mom has had a successful run in the US with 12 series, and already boasts 12 million UK viewers.
It is hoped that the gritty reality of having a child in your teens could educate those at home watching it.
The show covers the girls managing their work/life/school balance and tackles the grim truth of postnatal depression.
A study by American Economic Review in 2014 has actually previously credited the show for lowering teenage births in the US.
