Lauren Goodger’s boyfriend will spend Christmas banged up for burglary… and 7 other times celeb relationships had to survive jail time
TOWIE star Lauren Goodger has recently found herself in the spotlight for her relationship with convict Joey Morrison.
Joey is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence for possession of a firearm, kidnap, blackmail and aggravated burglary, but the reality TV star recently proved her loyalty to him by getting his name tattooed on her wrist.
Last week it also emerged he was moved to a tougher jail after being caught with a mobile phone that had been smuggled into HMP Standford Hill in Kent.
Lauren was already disappointed to learn she wouldn't be able to see Joey on Christmas Day, but after this latest incident, he has now also lost certain visitor privileges.
Lauren isn't the first celebrity determined to keep up a relationship with a criminal, though. These seven other celeb relationships also had to survive some jail time...
Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran
This on-again, off-again couple have been caught up in all sorts of drama.
Whether it’s a Rihanna/Drake love square or social media hate storms, this couple appeared to have faced it all.
In 2014, Chris Brown served 108 days in a county jail after probation violations following his conviction for the domestic abuse against girlfriend-of-the-time Rihanna in 2009.
Time eventually took its toll though and the couple split for good in 2015.
Ja Rule and Aisha Atkins
In 2001, the Always On Time rapper, Ja Rule, married Aisha Murray (now Atkins).
Within five years of marriage, the couple had conceived three children with their youngest being born in 2005.
But, in 2011, Ja Rule was sentenced to prison for possession of a criminal weapon and tax evasion.
The rapper spent nearly two years behind bars.
Ja Rule was released in 2013 and him and Aisha remain happily married.
Amy Childs and Bradley Wright
Fellow Towie star Amy Childs (who has since left the show) is expecting her first child with boyfriend and ex con Bradley Wright.
Bradley already had an existing criminal record when he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for handling stolen goods.
He is reported to still wear an electronic tag.
Despite the stint in prison, Amy stuck by him and the couple are expecting the arrival of their little one next year.
