Jeremy Kyle guest could be the dad of his godson… and the DNA test results shock everyone involved

DNA tests on Jeremy Kyle are nothing new, but the story behind this one was a little more tangled than usual... and the results a complete surprise.

Kevin was on today's show to find out if he is the dad of his ex-girlfriend Dee's baby.

"I found out I could be the father to Dee’s baby after seeing a scan picture on Facebook," he explained.

Alarm bells immediately started ringing.

But given the little boy in question is two and he split from Dee three years ago, host Jeremy was a bit confused by the timeline.

He quizzed Kevin, who attempted to clarify: "I don’t know… We did it a few times.”

Further muddying things was Ben, Dee's current man.

They got together about a week after she split from Kevin, and are still in a relationship.

He was named on the birth certificate and Dee was certain he was the dad, something Kevin seemed to hope was the case.

“I’ve offered to pay for a test, she told me she’d done one," he said.

"It would be easier if he was Ben’s.”

Predictably Jeremy was incensed by that remark, and insisted Kevin should have stumped up for his own test if he was unsure.

Dee then arrived to clear things up... or at least try to.

She explained: "I was seeing Kevin briefly, one day we had sex and 20 minutes later he dumped me by text.”

Apparently Kevin was too stressed out by looking for work to maintain the romance.

Seven days later Dee slept with Ben, who she was adamant was her son's dad.

She did have sex with Kevin again at one point, but then things get murky.

None of them seemed to be able to agree on when she told Ben about that, with Dee insisting she was open from early on in her pregnancy and Ben sure she waiting to tell him until week 12. Whatever the case, he wasn't overly bothered.

On top of all that came the news Dee had asked Kevin to be her baby's godfather... although she clarified he's not a "real" one, it was just to "stop the fighting".

After a lot of rowing, it was time for the DNA test results.

Jeremy opened the envelope and then announced Dee had some work in store - her baby is Kevin's, meaning she'll need to change the name on his birth certificate.

No one could believe what they were hearing, with Kevin rushing backstage

and Dee looking amazed.

It was down to Jeremy to tell Kevin: "I don’t retract that you should have done this a lot sooner.

"A lot sooner would have meant you had a relationship with your son for two years.

“You will find out now what sort of man you are.

“Actually the real victim in this is that boy [Ben] out there who’s been lied to.”

Kevin returned to the stage to shake Ben's hand and thank him for raising his son, prompting the reply: "I’m fine. It’s not going to affect anything, I’ve said that from the start.”

At least things didn't turn violent, like they did when one guest attempted to attack Jezza.
