Remember Big Brother’s Nadia Almada? She’s had a complete career change, this is what she’s up to now

EVERY Big Brother has its stand-out star, and they usually have an iconic catchphrase too.

So if we said, "I want my cigarettes!" to you, who would you think of?

It has to be Nadia Almada, who was the winner of Big Brother 5 in 2004.

Even more impressively, she was the first transgender housemate to appear on the show.

Cast your mind back and you'll probably remember her Diary Room appearances, where she was fiercely worried the UK public would judge her keeping her transgender identity secret.

Of course, that only made her triumphant exit even more emotional - especially as she scooped 74 per cent of the vote.

Nadia's series was the one with the now famous Fight Night.

The furious display happened after contestants Emma Greenwood and Michelle Bass, who housemates thought had been booted out, returned and let everyone know they'd seen all that had been said about them.

One thing led to another - especially given there was booze involved - and things became so heated security had to calm things down.

After her win, Nadia released a single called A Little Bit of Action.

She also returned to the famous house for Ultimate Big Brother in 2010, where she was pitted against other previous contestants including Makosi Musambasi and Josie Gibson.

Coolio was also there, with Nadia and the rapper having several blazing rows.

These days it seems Nadia is much calmer, and she has a new job which could be the reason why.

The 39-year-old from Portugal is now working as a hair stylist in London.

And if her social media profiles are anything to go by, her career is really taking off.

Her Facebook page explains she is working as a hair colour specialist and recently completed a course at the Sassoon Academy, London.

She regularly posts news from the world of hairdressing, and adds pictures of some of her own work.

She called it the most "awe-inspiring" two weeks of her career to date and included some shots of the high-fashion looks she was involved with.

Nadia has also included a picture of what seems to be her very first restyle, and it's quite the look.

It shows a woman with long brunette hair which was chopped into an edgy bob, something Nadia is clearly proud of.
