From Stockport to the West End? Alfie's Hocus Pocus performance has cast a spell over the Hollywood star
Wearing his dressing gown, a green blanket and a red wig, five-year-old Alfie Shields belts out I Put A Spell On You from the movie Hocus Pocus.
And even the movie's star, Bette Midler agreed that he nailed it!
After parents Steven and Emma uploaded the clip of Alfie impersonating Winifred from the 1993 movie classic to YouTube, it received over 2.7million hits and thousands of comments from fans across the globe.
And the magic didn't stop there. When Bette Midler herself saw the brilliant performance, she tweeted about it to her over 1 million followers.
Since the magical moment was such a huge hit, Alfie's parents have decided to start an official facebook page for their son,
Writing on the page dad, Steven said: "Before Alfie could talk he was trying to sing and ever since, he has put on performances like this (I have videos to prove it!).
"We could be anywhere (supermarket, on a train restaurants etc) and he will all of a sudden belt out song.
"There is one thing me and my wife would never do and that is try and change who he is, there is no such thing as a perfect child, as long as they healthy, shows respect and know right from wrong then there is nothing else you can do apart from letting them be who they are."
It was mum Emma who introduced Alfie to Hocus Pocus as it was a childhood favourite of hers. Speaking to the , she said: 'The scene is probably one of the most popular parts of the movie.
The wig he is wearing is actually the wig that Merida wears in the Disney movie Brave, but he asked me to put it in two buns on the top of his head like Bette Midler’s character Winifred.
"We have been totally amazed by the response and completely overwhelmed with all of the amazing comments and private messages we have received, not to mention the hundreds of friend requests from people all over the world. Alfie asked me if he was famous."
Fans can now find more videos of adorable Alfie on his Facebook page as Steve and Emma explain: "'Following Alfie's rendition of 'I Put a Spell On You' from the film Hocus Pocus and the amazing response he has had (especially from a certain Bette Midler). We have decided to set up this page for everyone to keep following Alfie."
The site already features Alfie performing numbers by Nikki Minaj, Michael Jackson and musical, Sister Act. We can't wait to see what he does next.
