Best deals for PS4 and XBox One on Black Friday – where to find the cheapest prices

BLACK Friday is always a fruitful time for gamers looking to grab a bargain, but it’s particularly exciting this year.

Microsoft and Sony have both updated their consoles in the past few months and reduced prices could tempt many of you to upgrade from the standard Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

What is the Xbox One S?

The Xbox One S is a slimmed down (and slightly more powerful) version of the Xbox One.

It can play 4K Ultra HD video on Blu-Ray or via streaming (eg Netflix and Amazon), but games are simply upscaled rather than running in native 4K.

Although it’s 40% smaller, the power supply is now integrated. It also comes with a new white, textured controller.

The Xbox One S is available with a 500MB, 1TB or 2TB hard disk.

Typical bundles include FIFA 17, Gears of War 4, Battlefield or Minecraft favourites.

What is the ‘slim’ PS4 and PS4 Pro?

The standard PlayStation 4 is now slimline and around 30% smaller than the original. The base option has a 500GB hard drive, but a 1TB version is also available.

The various bundles available include FIFA 17, ‘Gamer Pack’ (Uncharted 4, DriveClub  and The Last of Us), ‘Mega Pack’ (Uncharted 4, DriveClub and Ratchet & Clank), Grand Theft Auto V, LEGO Star Wars or Watch_Dogs (1 and 2).

Sony has recently launched the PS4 Pro, a 4K-compatible model with more processing power under the hood.  It comes with a 1TB hard disk as standard.

As the PS4 Pro is high-end and just released, it’s unlikely to be heavily discounted on Black Friday.
