Hatchimals are this year's must have toy for Christmas

HATCHIMALS are this year's must-have Christmas toy, with demand soaring in the run-up to December 25.

The £60 toy is an egg which hatches to reveal an interactive furry creature similar to a penguin. Once hatched, kids can teach it to walk, talk, dance, play games and more.

Manufacturers have assured the public that more stock will hit store shelves in November. A statement on the Hatchimals website says: "The consumer response to Hatchimals has been extraordinary, exceeding all expectations.

"We recognise it may be difficult finding this in-demand toy.

"This is a special time of year and we don’t want anyone to be disappointed, nor do we support inflated prices from non-authorised resellers.

"More inventory will be hitting retail shelves throughout November but we anticipate this inventory will sell quickly as well.

"Therefore we have increased production and a whole new batch of Hatchimals will be ready to hatch in early 2017. Thank you for your understanding."
