If you’re a nervous flyer who hates turbulence this is where the least bumpy plane seats are
No-one enjoys that gut-wrenching moment when your aircraft hits turbulence but now you can avoid it as much as possible
IF you're a nervous flyer, there's nothing scarier than your plane hitting turbulence but now you can avoid it as best as possible by choosing these virtually bump-free seats.
During a Q&A on the website Quora an airline pilot Bruno Gillissen finally answered the question about where is best to sit on a plane if you want a less bumpy ride.
This isn't the first time the question has cropped up but often there are a number of different answers.
However, to prove his theory, Bruno asked four flight attendants to confirm on a diagram of a plane where they thought which seats would be least affected by turbulence.
He said: “All four agree upon the back of the plane being the worst place.
“All pilots would agree with this as well I think.
“Three out of the four were convinced the least turbulence is felt in the very front - only one of them pointed to somewhere over the wings.
“The three who had no doubt it was the front of the plane were female flight attendants with more experience.

“The one who disagreed and opted for the wing zone was a junior male flight attendant.
“The three female flight attendants agree with most airline crew that the least turbulence is in the front of the airplane. That is consistent with my experience.”
Bruno continued to explain that the zones of the front of the plane are ahead of the centre of gravity, which is between the wings in the front section.
While the back of the plane is the worst section because the elevator is working hard to try and restore things to the way they were.
So if you're jetting off this winter and you want a smooth ride you should opt for one at the front of the plane.
