Hatchimal eggs SELL OUT online as parents flock to buy this year’s £60 must-have Christmas toy
HUNDREDS of parents have been left dismayed as this year's must-have toy, the Hatchimal egg, has already sold out in most stores.
This year's Christmas craze has whipped up excitement among children, but disappointment looms for many as the Hatchimals become harder to get their hands on.
For £59.99, parents have been snapping up the in-demand toy, an egg which hatches into an interactive, furry bird when rubbed.
Manufacturer Spin Master is already running out of stock, forcing the firm to desperately produce more to meet the sky-high Christmas demand.
But the toys, which come in five different collectable species, have already sold out online, forcing parents to check in stores if they want to snap up one of the furry critters.
"We are not playing a numbers game. We have no desire to keep the product from kids."
When hatched, the birds can learn to walk, talk and play games, but as far as many parents are concerned, they've gone the way of the Dodo and vanished completely.
Furious mums and dads have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration, with some having spent hours chasing the elusive eggs as part of a Christmas shopping nightmare.
One frustrated parent claimed: "Hatchimal hunting is ruining my life", as famous faces joined the hunt for the popular toy.
Nicole Polizzi, better known as reality TV star Snooki, tweeted her dismay after struggling to get her hands on one, saying: "Anyone know where I can find a damn Hatchimal?!
"They're sold out everywhere. "
Toys 'R' Us suggest checking in store for stock of the popular product, whilst many other retailers have reportedly sold out completely.
Hatchimals have even started cropping up on eBay at vastly inflated prices, with some being sold for two or three times their recommended retail value.
