Bodybuilder is so desperate to ‘make gains’ he grills his partner’s PLACENTA and then eats it

Aaron Curtis was filmed cooking, and then tucking into, the afterbirth

IF you think that getting to the gym a few times a month and piling your plate with vegetables is a decent enough stab at healthy living, it's time to reconsider.

According to one bodybuilder it takes something much more extreme to pile on muscle mass... eating your partner's PLACENTA.

Australian Aaron Curtis is dad to baby daughter Ilya Jane Curtis, and when she was born he decided to hold on to the organ.

As he explained in his : "With the birth of my first child, I thought I would consume the organ that provided her with life during the pregnancy, in the hope of making some gains."

So, how do you go about dining on afterbirth?

Well, if you're muscle man Aaron you leave it in the fridge for over a week to start.

He explained: "I thought I better cook it and wash off some of the slime before I eat it... to minimise the chance of dying."

The guy then cooked the organ on a barbecue, placing a small portion on the heat to kick things off.

Apparently, this would ensure he didn't get "botulism, or something".

Once cooked, the placenta turned from a blood red colour to a blackened mound.

Aaron was filmed cutting into it with a knife and fork, before quickly popping it in his mouth.

His friend shot the footage and quizzed Aaron on how it tasted.

The bodybuilder likened the placenta to liver, then wondered if he'd actually overcooked it.

After getting a "salty bit", he started to query out loud whether he'd cook any more.

This was when his partner Erica chimed in, insisting she was "putting her foot down" and wouldn't allow him to.

Aaron is far from the only person to give placenta eating a go.
