THE competition for the best Christmas advert of the year has already kicked off - and it is just the start of November.
As the nation highly anticipates the release of the iconic annual John Lewis ad, other brands have already set the bar for this year’s festive showdown.
How can I watch?
This week supermarket chain Morrisons released its first two Christmas adverts on its Facebook page before the they hit TVs on November 7.
The adverts aim to show how Morrisons food helps make special family moments.
They are pictured serving food destined for the Christmas table, such as mince pies, and turkey crowns.
What's it all about?
This year, the first advert highlights the role food plays in the customs of the festive season and how it creates special moments.
It features a determined young boy revising for an upcoming game of Trivial Pursuit with his Grandad on Christmas Day.
The second ad is about the common issue of finding room for all the tasty, festive food in the fridge.
It makes light of the situation, showing a packed fridge, garden shed, dolls house and bird bath all overflowing with food.
Andy Atkinson, Morrisons' Marketing Director, said: "Christmas is a special time of the year where families and friends gather together.
"Our adverts show our staff, the real heroes of our business, working hard to prepare festive food, offering great service and advice, and helping customers to create their own special moments at home with their family and loved ones."
As well as TV, the campaign will also run on national and regional radio, along with outdoor, press and digital advertising.
The hashtag #MorrisonsMakesIt will feature throughout.
What's this year's song?
Will Young helped to orchestrate the background music, which is a remix of his hit ‘Joy’.
The song was also used in the supermarket's Easter advert earlier this year.
As Brits are getting into the festive spirits, many have started anticipating the adverts of other major retailers.
Last year, Sainsbury’s Mog the cat became a firm family favourite, alongside John Lewis's The Man on the Moon advert.
Marks and Spencer are another company that always bring their Christmas A-game, with shoppers are already trying to guess which song they will choose to front this year’s campaign.
