Skylanders video game, a nerf gun and PLAY-DOH named in the must-have toys for this Christmas

WITH just eight weeks to go, this year's must have toys for Christmas have been revealed - with Skylanders Imaginators video game named as the favourite.

The latest instalment in the toys-to-life video games franchise has been named top of this year's Christmas wish list in a vote by kids.

The £49 game allows players to create their own virtual character for the first time in the series, sending it to the top of the Top Toys for Christmas list at the ToyTesters.tv Awards.

Hatchimals, the toys that hatch out of an egg and can be taught to walk, talk, dance and play games, is runner-up on the list, priced at around £60, while the £59.99 Nerf Modulus Tri-Strike Blaster came third.

Rounding out the top five are the Play-Doh Ice Cream Castle (£19.99) and the Air Storm Firetek Bow (£29.99).

However, not all toys on the list carry hefty price tags, with current favourite Star Monsters taking 11th place and costing as little as £1.

Gemma Gallagher, from ToyTesters.TV, said: "The awards give children the opportunity to have a voice, because when it comes to favourite toys, children often have very different choices to adults.
