River Island’s new mannequins look like they’re depressed…and everyone is taking the mick

There’s a lot of pressure on clothes brands to have more realistic mannequins, but have River Island taken the honesty a little too far?

PLENTY of people are campaigning to have shop mannequins which better reflect real women in our society.

Big name brands are encouraged to ditch the odd proportions in favour of models with more natural figures.

River Island has taken this a whole step further.

Their slim line, white mannequins look like they are attempting to comfort themselves out of the depths of depression.

Either that or they’re a bit hungover and emotional.

Either way they look like girls that have sat down in the shower to have a good cry – they look sad.
