Iyia Liu, from New Zealand started her brand of corsets ‘Waist Trainer New Zealand Australia’ and swiftly became the choice of celebrities and young girls hoping to achieve the much-sought after hour-glass look.

Now, Iyia’s celeb customers even promote her products across social media.

The endorsement by famous faces (and waists) sees girls flock to her website to get their hands on the must-have accessory.

Her website has now become so popular that entrepreneur Iyia raked in around a whopping £2million last year alone - including an impressive £620,000 profit.

Clever Iyia said that she had noticed the trend for the corset-style trainers online and with just around £3500 to her name she decided to import some corsets from China – needless to say, her investment paid off.

“I thought I’d just sell a few”, Iyia told the New Zealand Herald.

Iyia was no stranger to doing business; the savvy commerce graduate says that she had been importing things from China to sell outside of school from the age of 13.

With a modern world which thrives on social media, Iyia decided to use one of its leaders to help grow her business.

And while for some of us, paying £187,000 for Kardashian/Jenner to endorse your product may sound absurd – you can’t argue that it does the trick when it comes to raking the customers in.

The endorsement was liked more than 1.5 million times and was exposed to millions more – making it a pretty savvy business decision.

However, Iyia does admit that this investment didn't pay itself off instantly.

“The return was not as fast as I thought it would be”, she said.

But, her company has ultimately been so successful that Iyia is now able to live a life which, in many ways, is similar to the lavish lifestyles of Kylie and her celebrity pals.

And the young business woman’s Instagram is proof of how well she is doing.

From sunbathing in Bali to overlooking the Grand Canyon, the holidays behind the snaps have been paid for by women wanting to get an itty-bitty waist.

Iyia now says that her success shows to other young people that achieving your goals at an early age is possible.

She added: “Entrepreneurs need to take risks, so if you have no liabilities, like a mortgage or children, you can make more flexible decisions without worrying so much about the outcome.”
