The £5.99 Rimmel lipstick that’s just as good as luxury rival on sale at a whopping £65
Both of the products have sparked rave reviews online
IN the lead up to Christmas, there’s nothing more festive than sporting a red lipstick.
So here’s how to avoid breaking the bank when choosing the perfect shade of rouge this winter.
Even though these two lippies are similar in their colour and online ratings, there’s a staggering £60 price difference between the two.
For sheer luxury, the £65 bullet of Louboutin makeup would be the ultimate indulgence.
A more budget-friendly option is a release by Rimmel, which costs just £5.49.
But what’s the difference between the two products?
The packaging:
The sleek black Louboutin case, which tails into a sharp point, has been designed to resemble the designer’s iconic stiletto.
If that wasn’t eye-catching enough, the lipsticks are all topped with crystal-like lids, which resemble miniature crowns.
At a price point of almost £60 less, the Rimmel lippie certainly looks a lot less glamorous.
The high-street offering, which retails for £5.49, comes in matte black packaging adorned with Kate Moss’ signature.
The performance:
You’d think that saving money when buying lipstick would be a recipe for disaster, but many celebs have claimed to love the Rimmel lippie.
One her blog, well-known vlogger Zoella raves about the high-street option, claiming they were her “favourite drugstore lipstick on the shelves”.
About this shade in particular, she revealed: “I wear it ALL THE TIME. It’s my staple red.
“I love the longevity, the consistency and the colour payoff is amazing.”
Online reviews for the Rimmel lippie seem to be consistent with the online hype, as it has received a four star rating on the Boots website.
